The human jungle gym! Galumpha combines acrobatics, visual effects, physical comedy and choreography to create a one-of-a-kind show that your students will talk about for weeks afterwards. The three actor/performers use their keen sense of balance to accomplish seemingly impossible physical feats. This show is as funny as it is awe-inspiring.
The governing idea behind a Galumpha performance is exuberant and free self-expression. Your students will learn that movement and music can say as much (or more) than words. They will also witness a striking demonstration of what teamwork can accomplish in a visceral, physical space – a terrific lesson on the importance of kinesthetic learning.
A question-and-answer session will follow the performance.

In the midst of an historical bitter feud, passionate young love emerges. Defying their parents, Romeo and Juliet marry and plot to run away together, only to be thwarted at every turn. This classic play is a swashbuckling drama and the greatest love story ever told.
Are you studying Shakespeare or Drama with your students? Shakespeare can be difficult. Nothing enhances comprehension of our language’s greatest playwright like a professional, student-oriented live performance.
Seattle Shakespeare Company has edited Romeo and Juliet down to its essential components while expertly preserving the timeless story and most beautiful passages. They have been doing this important work, to great accolades, for 20 years.
A question-and-answer session will follow the performance.

Book-It All Over has been given the rare opportunity to bring Dr. Seuss to life. Join us on a fanciful journey where we’ll explore our responsibility to our environment and one another through Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax and The Sneetches and Other Stories. In The Lorax, Dr. Seuss implores us to take care of our planet. We meet the fuzzy yellow Lorax who warns against the taking of the Truffula Trees. In the end, the future of the land rests in the hands of one little boy who holds the last remaining Truffula Tree seed. In The Sneetches and Other Stories, we meet the loveable Sneetches and their encounter with Sylvester McMonkey McBean, “the Fix-it-up Chappie,” and learn about the pointlessness of prejudice.
For families with young children, KPC has a “quiet room” where patrons can see and hear the performance in a soundproofed room.
A question-and-answer session will follow the performance.
Bonus Program! The Kirkland Library (just down the block!) will offer lots of fun activities on Monday, March 12th, including a super-size collection of Dr. Seuss books for check-out, so you can make your field trip an all-day affair! Contact our office at (425) 828-0422 for more information.
