Shahana Dattagupta Reading: Thrive!
- January 10, 7:30PM
AUTHOR READING
Shahana Dattagupta wishes to be the catalyst for the highest creative potential of others in order to create a thriving world. She uses various mediums to this end, including writing, visual art, music, theater, and architectural design. Shahana really does believe that love is always the answer. She is the author of Ten Avatars, a debut fiction collection exploring “avatars” of womanhood through her transcultural Indian/American lens. She is also co-founding editor of the monthly ‘zine Courageous Creativity, which curates stories of courage, creativity, and change from diverse contributors all over the world.
In her newly published collection of essays, Dattagupta chronicles her tremendous spiritual awakening following intense suffering. Among her many epiphanies is the realization that surviving, which is driven by fear, is antithetical to thriving, which is purely love-driven. Thrive! Falling in Love with Life reveals how Shahana used the generative nature of love to unlock the mysterious powers of true creativity. By connecting with her own Higher Power, Shahana came to realize she has the ability to create her own life at every turn.
This free event is a reading, dialogue, book sale and signing. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available.
