Spencer Hardy Welch is a composer, pianist, educator and public speaker who has been writing and performing music since he was five years old.

Spencer has performed at hundreds of weddings, private parties, and corporate events.  In 1994, he recorded an album of original piano compositions, THUNDERHEAD.  Over the past forty years, he has composed music for television and film projects, performed widely in concerts and private engagements throughout the United States, and has been a successful educator in public schools and in higher education.  Since 2012, he has been a leadership and organizational development consultant.  In 2023, he released his new album, NOSTALGIA.

Spencer’s music has been described as lyrical and relaxing.  What distinguishes it is its unusual combination of classical, jazz and popular influences.  Some of his songs are delicate nocturne-like pieces, others have roots in folk and blues traditions, and still others are meditative improvisational works.  In performances, these diverse elements come together to form a distinctive musical experience.
