American television actress, musical theater icon, and songwriter, Laura Benanti will be gracing KPC’s stage this upcoming May for an intimate solo performance – and we cannot be more thrilled for her to join us!
A multifaceted artist, Laura Benanti is a highly celebrated Tony Award-winner, with over five Tony nominations for varying theater and television work. Laura’s most recent nominated was for her role as Amalia Balash in the popular Broadway Musical, She Loves Me. Fans may also recognize her in ABC’s hit series Nashville and the CW’s action drama Supergirl. In addition to television work, Laura is known for her critically acclaimed performance as Elsa Schrader in NBC’s The Sound of Music LIVE starring Carrie Underwood. Alongside her Tony success, she is also a reoccurring ‘Drama League’, ‘Drama Desk’ and ‘Outer Critics Circle’ Award winner; with over 20 nominations in her name.
A highly celebrated stage actress, Laura took Broadway by storm at the age of 18. While her early work is comprised of distinguished musical theater performances and most recent success in popular television series, Laura is also an engaging performer, songwriter and guitarist with a number of solo, studio and concert recordings to date. Laura currently performs concerts around the country, recently performing for President Obama at both the Fords Gala and the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington DC.
