What makes a friend and how do you keep one? Can you have more than one friend? Are all friendships the same? How can Winnie the Pooh be friends with all those animals and Christopher Robin? They’re all so different! Yes, they are all so different, and that’s what makes this story so special. Each of Winnie the Pooh’s friends need something different from Pooh. Pooh loves each of them and as a friend he wants to give them what they need. He is calm with Rabbit who can be nervous and anxious, and he’s careful with Piglet because he knows how frightened he gets. Pooh listens to Owl because it’s important to Owl that he is heard, and Pooh is patient and understanding with Eeyore since Eeyore is sad. Finally, with Christopher Robin, Pooh can be a ‘bear of very little brain’ and knows that no matter who he is, he will always be loved and understood.
