It seems only yesterday, but a decade has passed since the inception of our beloved dance academy in a nondescript corner of Seattle on a cold February day. The past ten years have been an eventful and interesting journey — sometimes barely surviving through treacherous waters of adversity and at other times sailing smoothly to our next destination. Through it all, our Anga Kala Kathak Academy has triumphantly continued its forward march with its eyes laser-focused on its mission and vision. Even when an ominous mantle of death suddenly descended on the earth two years ago, our academy took it in stride, held its head high and came out even stronger in the end. Tonight, we proudly present our choreographic depiction of AKKA’s decade-long artistic journey and the story of how our creativity trounced the pandemic.
